Episode eight of You in Two is here! We interview our Digital Marketing Manager, Michael Forsdyke who has been in charge of all things digital for the firm since 2022. With a background in digital marketing for a host of digital agencies and in-house teams, Michael oversees items such as the Kreston Reeves website, social media channels, search-engine optimisation (SEO) and video campaigns just like this one!

Q: Introduce yourself!

A: My name’s Michael and I’m the Digital Marketing Manager at Kreston Reeves and I’m based in the Chatham office.

Q: What does digital marketing look like in the Accounting industry?

A: So in terms of digital, I mean these days, digital is everywhere, so it can be a little bit abstract to try and think about what does a digital team do. But certainly when you think about our main sort of landscapes online, such as the website, our social media channels, search engines, paid advertising, video content like this, these are all elements that will come through the digital team in some way or another.

Q: What skills do you need to be a marketer?

A: One skill I think is particularly important in marketing is flexibility and patience. I suppose that’s two, so probably being able to count probably helps! 

Q: How would your colleagues describe you?

A: That’s an interesting one, quiet I think in some descriptions! (expressed sarcastically).

Q: If Kreston Reeves had a mascot, what would it be?

A: Very tempting to say a duck of some description because I absolutely love ducks.

Q: Who inspires you?

A: My best friend, she is a mum. She’s got a senior sort of full-time position at a very large tech company, so it’s boss-lady meets caring mum meets best friend. So she’s kind of, you know, nailing all of that and having a very brat summer.

Q: Sweet or sour?

A: I do have a very large sweet tooth, so I would probably go down the route of sweet, but I do love Haribo Tangfastics so that’s kind of a bit of both.

Q: What is your favourite cereal?

A: Do Pop-Tarts count?

Q: What item can you never leave the house without?

A: Leaving the house, I can’t leave without at least nine cans of Red Bull generally speaking. But otherwise just the usuals, phone, keys, wallet, do the old man check on the way out. But otherwise that, I just take my cheery disposition with me!
