Q: Introduce yourself!
A: My name is Phoebe, I’m based in the Horsham office, and I’m a Semi Senior in Private Client Tax.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?
A: What I enjoy most about my role is saving people from paying more tax than they need to, giving them that advice that they wouldn’t be able to find out for themselves easily enough.
Q: How would your colleagues describe you in three words?
A: My colleagues would describe me as loud, sociable, welcoming, I’d hope!
Q: What is something exciting you are currently working on?
A: I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in reverse mentoring with the Senior Partner at the firm, Andrew Griggs, hi! So we meet once a month and the main topic of conversation is understanding cross-generational working. Something I think we’ve taught each other is the importance of a work-life balance and getting that happy medium of leaving the office at a reasonable hour as well as meeting all of those goals that you have for the company.
Q: What motivates you in your role?
A: What motivates me is, my role is very personal. I am making a difference in people’s lives, and that in itself is very motivating to me.

Let’s make it personal!
Q: Coffee or tea?
A: Coffee, caffeinated, always.
Q: Are you arriving early or late to the party?
A: I am arriving bang on time!
Q: What was your first job?
A: I worked at Lloyd’s Bank, was my first job. I did love it, but moved into Tax quite quickly.
Q: If you won the lottery, what would be your first purchase?
A: If I’ve won the lottery and haven’t got the money yet, a Chinese takeaway. If I’ve got the money, a big motorbike that I’ll never ride.
Q: What is your go-to karaoke song?
A: Oh, it’s actually Dolly Parton, ‘Islands in the Stream’. It’s a bit of a rogue one, but it works!
