Kreston Reeves Financial Planning are delighted to have been announced as contenders for the South East firm of the year in the New Model Adviser Awards 2021.

Citywire’s New Model Adviser publication seeks to establish the best Independent Financial Advisory firm each year based on survey responses assessed using a point-scoring system, approved by AKG. They look for evidence of well-qualified staff, robust investment propositions, carefully segmented client bases, good use of technology, willingness to share best practise, client education, recruitment and contribution to professional standards to name just a few factors.

There are nine awards available: eight regional categories comprising of London, Scotland & Northern Ireland, Wales, East of England, The Midlands, The North, The South East and the South West and a national title too.

In the last year Kreston Reeves Financial Planning have continued to develop their model investment portfolios, invested in staff development and technology, revised their client communications and increased the level of funds held in their sustainable investment portfolios, in addition to developing their own sustainability goals.

They were particularly praised for their revamped website focusing on specific milestones when individuals are likely to require financial advice, for example I am looking to: “Retire”, “Manage and protect wealth”, “Leave a legacy” and “Plan for later life”.

Increased online efforts have led to an increased level of enquiries, with one particular case being referenced in which a family approaching retirement had been recommended the services of the firm by an existing client as a result of becoming uncertain about their existing adviser’s capabilities. Their online research had then supported the recommendation with them being impressed with the high level of expertise and professional standards within Kreston Reeves Financial Planning, including voluntarily subscribing to the Pension Transfer Gold Standard.

Sadly there will be a break with tradition this year in the awards not being presented in person at the annual January conference, but instead the financial planning team eagerly awaits the online ceremony in February hosted by New Model Adviser Editor, Will Robins and Citywire Chairman Lawrence Lever.
