Chancellor Rishi Sunak has delivered his Spring Statement against a backdrop of soaring inflation and rising costs.

It delivered a package of measures to help families and small businesses mitigate those rising costs including a fuel duty reduction, increasing the National Insurance threshold, extending business rates relief and increasing the employment allowance.

The Chancellor has committed to a cut in income tax before the end of this parliament in 2024 and has promised to involve businesses in shaping R&D tax credit reform and investment before its Autumn Budget.
